About
Mete is a tri-lingual and multi-cultural Executive Coach and trainer living and working in Japan since 1995. In addition to his native language, Turkish, he is fluent in English and Japanese. During his 22 years of experience in various corporate roles, he worked towards building successful products and efficient processes. Mete is also known for his intercultural communication abilities.
Corporate experience
Mete worked in Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters), Hartford Life Insurance, and AXA Life Insurance, covering Product Development, Product Management, Business Analysis, and Project Management areas. He was a senior leader in most of these organizations. In 2012, he became the Head of Local Product Development in LexisNexis Japan, the world’s leading provider of legal and compliance information. In 2015 he became a Corporate Officer. He left LexisNexis in 2018 and established his own company in 2019.
Experience as a coach and trainer
As an Executive and Leadership Coach, Mete has delivered nearly 1,000 hours of coaching and worked with leaders from Japan/Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.
Coaching area of expertise
Leadership during the times of extreme VUCA, how to become a risk-taker, how to build, motivate, and develop teams, developing executive presence and visibility, how to work with colleagues from other cultures and value systems, how to influence and inspire others.
Certifications
Mete is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) as certified by the International Coach Federation, and a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) by the Co-Active Training Institute.
Academic background
Mete has a B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University, Turkey, an M.B.A from International University of Japan, and an M.Sc. in Psychology from California Southern University. He is expected to earn the degree of Doctor of Psychology by 2022.
