David Sloan has spent nearly 40 years in business, law, and finance in the Houston area. Most of his activities have been centered around mid-market ventures. During the last 20 years, David built a law and advisory practice focused primarily on representing mid-market commercial ventures and their owners as outside general counsel. A significant amount of David’s practice involves M & A related work.

Well-rounded business and legal experience give David a unique perspective and deep insight in representing businesses and business owners having worn the hats of owner, lender, legal counsel, and investor.

Prior to building his law practice, David co-founded a distressed assets acquisition company that focused primarily on acquiring debt of struggling commercial ventures and helping those ventures resolve difficult issues.

David is an active board member of FamilyPoint Resources, an impactful non-profit meeting needs building hope, and transforming lives in an under resourced area of West Houston.

David holds a B.S. in Finance from Arizona State University and a J.D. from the University of Houston. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Army Airborne and Military Police. David enjoys outdoor activities in his downtime, including hiking, kayaking, fishing, softball, and spending time with his active grandkids.
